The Lagos State Judicial Panel on restitution for victims of SARS-related abuses and other matters resumed sitting Friday 15th January by looking into 8 petitions.
In the first petition of the day involving Ndukwe Ekekwe vs the Federal special Anti Robbery Squad (FSARS), the respondent’s counsel applied for the matter to be stepped down which the panel obliged.
However, when the case resumed, the police counsel called his witness who had his evidence in chief and stated that the petition confessed to a medical practitioner while under treatment that he fell off the stairs in his attempt to escape justice and he sought to tender a flash drive to corroborate his submission, but the petitioner counsel objected to the admissibility of the flash on the grounds that he was not availed a copy as directed by the panel at it’s last sitting on the matter.
