An ex-British Army soldier has been cleared of murder and manslaughter after fatally shooting his former best friend.
Jeffery Mills, 54, had a two-year affair with Andrew Jenkins’ wife Louise, causing the latter to barge into his home with a knife and threaten to ‘f***ing kill’ him on March 17.
Within seconds of Mr Jenkins’ arrival, Mills shot him once through the chest, causing him to collapse and later die at the scene, Maidstone Crown Court heard.
Mills denied murder and manslaughter and was acquitted of both charges by the jury after five hours of deliberation. Read more
