Double Olympic Gold medallist turned unified world middleweight champion Claressa Shields made history last weekend with her win over Christina Hammer.
At age 24 Shields has a resume in the sport both amateur and professional that is as literally as good as it gets.
When you consider she’s already won Olympic Gold twice as an amateur and now has already unified all four middleweight world titles as a pro, it’s hard to see what more she can really achieve.
Obviously she’s part of a continued movement to grow women’s boxing and get better pay, which is something to still strive for, but from an achievement perspective she’s already done so much at such a young age to be fair. Read more
