Rotimi Rahmon, a House of Representatives aspirant in the 7th October 2018, All Progressives Congress legislative primaries conducted in Ogun State by the National Working Committee panel, has alleged that his mandate given by the APC members of Ado Odo/Ota Federal Constituency, has been stolen. Rahmon allegeed that he won the House of Representatives ticket by polling 16,410 votes in the primary held at the Ado Odo/Ota, out of the total votes cast of 20,468. Read more

FRSC confirms 6 dead in Friday’s accident in Ebonyi (Guardian)

The Ebonyi Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed six persons dead in a road mishap that occurred on Friday at Ezzamgbo end of the Enugu–Abakaliki highway. Mrs Stella Uchegbu, FRSC Sector Commander in Ebonyi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that two buses were involved in the accident. Uchegbu said that the command’s rescue team moved to the scene of the accident immediately they received a distress call on the incident. Read more

Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, has said she cannot confirm the death of her late husband’s son, Debe Ojukwu. The lawyer representing a Christian woman acquitted of blasphemy after eight years on death row has fled Pakistan in fear for his life. Saif Mulook told news agency AFP he had to leave so he could continue to represent Asia Bibi, whose conviction was overturned by judges on Wednesday. Officials have since agreed to bar Ms Bibi from leaving Pakistan in order to end violent protests over the ruling. Read more

An Indonesian diver died while recovering body parts from the ill-fated Lion Air plane which crashed into the sea killing 189 people, an official said Saturday. Syachrul Anto, 48, who died on Friday, was part of the team searching for body parts and debris from the jet in the Java Sea. “He was a volunteer with the Search and Rescue Agency,” Isswarto, commander of the Indonesian navy’s search and rescue division, told AFP. Two teenage armed robbers nabbed in Bayelsa (Punch)

Men of the Edo State Police Command have arrested a 21-year old man, Samuel Emobor Oghenekporboro, for allegedly killing his mother and making love to her corpse several times for money ritual. His 58 years old mother identified as Mrs Christiana Ighoyivwi was said to have been strangulated at their residence at 8B, Market road, Ologbo Community along Benin- Sapele road in Ikpoba-Okha local government area. Wife kills self, husband, three children in Makurdi (Punch)

The Police Command in Benue has confirmed the killing of a man and his three children by his wife, who also took her life. “The man, Mr Nicholas Adetsav, a staff of Makurdi Local Government Council, and his children, were killed on Friday night in Makurdi.
