What do you do when you see your dreams of becoming a professional footballer dashed?

For Ben Nuttall the answer was a life-changing one – to become a football freestyler instead.

And that decision has proved every bit as good as the tricks the teenager produces effortlessly, which have helped him break world records and given him the chance to rub shoulders with the stars and perform on some of the biggest stages.

Nuttall, 18, was an attacking midfielder in Birmingham’s academy until he was released aged 13 because of his size.

Rather than jump back on the football treadmill, Nuttall tried his hand – or feet – at freestyling after becoming “hooked and addicted” after watching a video of then world champion Andrew Henderson performing tricks.

“He was doing stuff that Ronaldo and Messi couldn’t,” Nuttall said. Read more
