Former Al Ahly assistant manager David Sesa has shared his thoughts on the comparison between former coach Rene Weiler and his successor Pitso Mosimane.
The Egyptian giants recently played in their third consecutive CAF Champions League final, but were defeated in controversial circumstances by Moroccan opponents Wydad Athletic Club – in Morocco.
Following the loss Mosimane was heavily criticised by many who laid the blame for the defeat at his door.
However, Sesa has defended Mosimane, while also criticising a couple of players.
“Al Ahly didn’t play well against Wydad. Despite having a lot of good players, they weren’t having a good game,” Sesa said.
“Mosimane is a good coach, and he won two CAF Champions League titles with the team.
“Compared to Weiler, Mosimane’s playstyle is different, when I worked with Weiler we were more focused on attacking and scoring more goals.”
Commenting on Percy Tau and Luis Miquissone, Sesa added: “Tau was very good in Belgium, but right now, his performance has gotten worse and he’s not on the level to play for Al Ahly.
“Miquissone is not performing well too, the two players are not on Al Ahly level right now.”
