Kano State Governor Umar Ganduje has ordered the permanent secretaries fired by the state government in May to be demoted to the position of directors.
Our correspondent learnt that the permanent secretaries were asked to embark on compulsory retirement, but would retire as directors.
One of the affected permanent secretaries, who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity, confirmed the development.
The Kano State Head of Service, Dr Kabiru Shehu, said the move was in accordance with the Ganduje’s administration’s efforts to reposition the civil service. Read more
