Game of Thrones author George RR Martin says writing the book series took a lot out of him.
Martin says the A Song of Ice And Fire Series is ‘the most massive work I’m capable of doing’ and doubts he’ll write something as epic in the future.
His comments come from a year-old interview at a convention he attended in St Petersburg, published in Russian magazine Питерbook.

Martin was asked whether A Song of Ice And Fire is his ‘magnum opus’ or whether he ‘plans to create something even greater’?
He said: ‘Oh no, this thing nearly killed me and it’s probably the most massive work that I’m capable of doing.
‘I hope to continue writing standalone novels, novellas and short stories, but nothing on this scale.’ Read more
