GOCOP congratulates Soneye, NNPCL’s spokesman, Agbo, Enugu commissioner, others on appointments

The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has extended hearty congratulations to Mr. Olufemi Oladapo Soneye on his recent appointment as the Chief Corporate Communications Officer (CCCO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

This commendation came alongside the acknowledgment of Dr. Malachy Agbo, GOCOP’s pioneer president, who was sworn in as the Commissioner for Human Development and Poverty Eradication in Enugu State by Governor Peter Mbah.

Maureen Chigbo, the president of GOCOP and publisher of RealNews online magazine, expressed her satisfaction with these appointments and encouraged the appointees to uphold GOCOP’s values and ideals while looking to the Guild for unwavering support. She highlighted that these appointments are not isolated instances, as Malam Rasheed Olawale of Sahel Standard was recently appointed as the spokesperson to the Osun State Governor, and Mr. Ajagbe Adeyemi Teslim of August24news secured a role as Special Adviser on Digital Communications to the Lagos Island Council chairman.

Before his recent appointment, Mr. Soneye was associated with Per Second News, and Dr. Agbo was the Founding Publisher of The Citizens. Chigbo conveyed her best wishes for success in their new roles and reiterated GOCOP’s readiness to collaborate with and support these appointees in fulfilling their mandates.

GOCOP, a registered non-governmental, non-partisan, non-profit organization, comprises the owners of various online publications and recently conducted its annual national conference in Abuja. The conference, chaired by Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), featured a keynote address delivered by Prof. Uche Joseph Uwaleke, the first Nigerian professor of Capital Market, from Nasarawa State University Keffi.
