Governor Douye Diri honoured with People’s Governor of the Year award in London

In a testament to his ongoing efforts to redefine the developmental landscape of Bayelsa State, Governor Douye Diri has been honoured with the People’s Governor of the Year award by Triangle Media International in partnership with the Face of Africa Leadership.

The prestigious award was presented during the annual Face of Africa Leadership event, which took place on Friday in London. The event celebrates exceptional achievements across various sectors, aiming to promote African excellence and inspire others toward remarkable accomplishments.

Governor Diri, who was unable to attend in person, was represented by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Alabrah.

Expressing his gratitude, Governor Diri conveyed his appreciation to Triangle Media International and the Face of Africa Leadership for the recognition. He emphasised that such accolades motivate him and his administration to further commit to their vision of a progressive Bayelsa State.

“This award is a reflection of our administration’s dedication to changing the developmental narrative of Bayelsa State. It inspires us to continue our focused efforts to make our state better,” Governor Diri remarked.

This recent honour follows closely on the heels of another accolade bestowed upon Governor Diri just a week prior, where he was named the Icon of Unity and Social Justice by the Ijaw National Congress of the Americas in Houston, Texas.

As his administration continues to gain recognition both locally and internationally, Governor Diri remains committed to his mission. He believes that, after his tenure, the story of Bayelsa State will be one of significant transformation and progress.
