Governor Kefas has renewed hope for a better Taraba – Reverend

Former National President of Mbamnga Cultural Development Association (MCDA) Rev Eric Juyoh declared on Wednesday that the Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has brought renewal of hope of the ordinary people for a better and stable Taraba.

Juyoh, who stated this while interacting with the media in Jalingo, said that the declaration of free education for both primary and secondary schools in the State and the substantial reduction in the tuition of the state university and other institutions shows that the Governor is truly concerned with the wellbeing of the people.

He commended the governor for ensuring prompt payment of salaries and pensions and for enlisting more retirees to start getting their pensions.

Juyoh said that the developmental strides of Governor Kefas since he assumed office in May last year show that he only needs prayer, collective support and encouragement from the people to move the state to an enviable height.

“We have every reason to appreciate God for the gift of gov Agbu Kefas to our dear state, his coming as the governor of the state has brought endless joy to us as a people. The people are happy because he brought free education which is unprecedented. I was the national president of my cultural development association for good six years, and I know the pain of my people and I understand how difficult it was before the coming of Governor Kefas.

“Help was only coming to us from the present Secretary to the state government (SSG) Chief Gibon Kataps and family and the former Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Abel Peter Diah who through their foundation were rendering humanitarian services to our people of Sardauna LGA by facilitating employment for our youths, scholarship and construction of bridges passage across our communities,” he said.

According to the reverend, the cultural association which came on board by the then fathers is now a platform where all sons and daughters of Mbamnga community gathered to forge a common front as well as to promote peace.

The clergyman who maintained that his regime brought all people together expressed delight his community got its first district head when the association hosted a sitting governor for the first time.

He appealed to all Tarabans to remain law abiding and support Governor Kefas to enable him provide more dividends of democracy in the state. (Sun)
