Hardship: Kano residents pray for peace, economic growth, stability

Worried by the current economic hardship and security challenges in the country, residents of Kano gathered on Monday to pray for peace, economic growth and stability.

The prayer session which was held in various locations including Western Bypass, Hotoro, Charanchi and Unguwa Uku quarters, brought together community members to seek divine intervention.

A Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), who monitored the exercise reports that the prayers signified the residents’ resolve to repent and return to God Almighty for absolute and lasting solution to the nation’s lingering challenges.

Alhaji Bala Sani of Hotoro, described prayer as an act of worship, saying, “once we return to God Almighty, be rest assure that our demands will be heard.”

Alhaji Ibrahim Faruk of Charanchi quarters stressed the importance of repentance, engaging in pious acts, and prayers for leaders.

Alhaji Abdullah Yakubu of Unguwa Uku observed that offering prayers for the leaders would guide them to govern well.

According to Yakubu, protest is never a solution, but seeking God’s intervention remains the best option.

NAN reports that the prayer session is meant to encourage youth to refrain from looting and destruction of public property, especially buildings.

During the prayers, different ulama offered prayers for divine solution to the current security and economic challenges bedeviling Nigeria. (NAN)
