Harry Redknapp doubts Frank Lampard can succeed as Chelsea manager (Metro)

Frank Lampard is the bookmakers’ favourite to be the next Chelsea manager, but his uncle, Harry Redknapp, believes it might be too much for him at this stage of his career.

Lampard has had just one season in management, leading Derby County to the Championship play-off final, where they lost out to Aston Villa at Wembley.

Current Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has reportedly asked to leave the club, despite finishing third in the Premier League and winning the Europa League in his debut season at Stamford Bridge.

The 40-year-old former England international has been installed as favourite to replace Sarri in west London, but Redknapp is not convinced his nephew should take on the huge challenge. Read more
