Tragedy struck in the Gbagada area of Lagos, after a yet-to-be-identified woman was stabbed to death by her househelp, in her apartment on 29, Kiniun-Ifa street sawmill.

FG begins vocational training for inmates (Punch)
The Federal Government has commenced vocational training to empower inmates in Nigeria’s 241 correctional facilities and prepare them for life after incarceration.
This was disclosed at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday by the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education, Abiola Arogundade.
Arogundade, who said President Bola Tinubu is concerned about the reintegration of the inmates into the society, added that each beneficiary will get a grant of N500,000 once they complete the skills acquisition programme. Read more
Man lands In Kano police custody after attempted suicide (DailyTrust)
A yet-to-be identified man has been taken into the police custody in Kano after he reportedly attempted to strangle himself.
It was learnt that the man was found along State Road, a few metres away from the State Government House.

Kidnappers demand N10m ransom for abducted UNTH director (Nation)
Kidnappers are demanding a N10 million ransom after abducting the deputy director of nursing services from the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Ituku Ozalla, in Enugu State on Tuesday, March 12.
The kidnappers had on Tuesday morning invaded the hospital and abducted the nurse and two other persons, including security personnel of the hospital.
While one of the hospital staff kidnapped, had been rescued by the police, the kidnappers, our correspondent learned, established contact with the family of the nurse, demanding the sum of N10 million ransom from them. Read more

Taraba: 15 passengers missing as gunmen attack bus (Sun)
At least fifteen passengers, including women and children are reportedly missing in an attack on an 18 seater bus that loaded passengers from Zaki Biam in Benue State to Maihula in Bali local government area of Taraba State on Tuesday.
Hon Ezra Voka, the chairman of Doonga Local Government Council, where the attack took place, confirmed the incident to Journalists on phone, but could not provide details as he said he was already in the nearby forest in search for the victims.

Israeli strike in Lebanon kills ‘significant’ Hamas member (NBC)
An Israeli drone strike on a car outside the southern Lebanese city of Tyre on Wednesday killed a member of Hamas from the nearby Palestinian camp of Rashidieh, Israeli and Hamas officials said.
A Hamas source, speaking to Reuters, identified the member as Hadi Mustafa but said he was not a senior figure. Hamas’s Al Aqsa television said Mustafa was a leader of the group’s armed wing.
The Israeli military confirmed it had killed Mustafa in southern Lebanon and called him a “significant” Hamas operative, alleging he was responsible for attacks against Israeli and Jewish targets around the world. Read more

Locals in a Japanese city have been warned to keep their distance from a cat which fell into a vat of toxic chemicals.
Surveillance footage showed the moment the now-missing cat plunged into the vat of chemicals in the Nomura Plating factory in Fukuyama, Japan, before jumping out and running away.
Tiny yellow brown pawprints were spotted on the factory floor after the cat ran off, but residents have been told to keep an eye out for the animal. Read more
