A 24-year-old rape victim on Wednesday narrated to a Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja how she was allegedly drugged and gang-raped by the son of a Lagos hotelier, Don-Chima George, and his friend, Olusegun Rasak.
PUNCH Metro had reported that George, the son of the owner of the Dallankester Hotels, and Rasak were arrested by men of the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly drugging and raping the victim in the Lekki Phase 1 area of the state. Read more
Pay more attention to children’s education, HDI urges LASG (Vanguard)
To ensure inclusive, quality and free education for all in Lagos State, a non-governmental organisation, Human Development Initiatives, HDI, in partnership with Action Aid Nigeria, has called on the Lagos State Government to pay more attention to the education needs of children, particularly girls and disabled groups.

Court orders forfeiture of gold bars, N39m to govt (Nation)
A Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the forfeiture of 35.58 kilogrammes of gold bars and N36 million seized from a gold dealer and a federal civil servant by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to the Federal Government.
Justice Muslim S. Hassan, who made the order, also ordered the civil servant to pay N10million to the government for his part in the deal. Read more
Court remands friends for allegedly gang raping 21-year–old woman (Punch)
An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday ordered that two friends, Samson Shittu, 25, and Ramoni Animashaun, 24, who allegedly raped a 21-year-old woman, be remanded in Kirikiri Prison.
The Chief Magistrate, P.E. Nwaka, did not take the plea of the defendants.
Nwaka ordered that the case file be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice. Read more
