How plane carrying Agagu’s body crashed, killed 13 people (DailyTrust)

The Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) today released final reports of two air accidents and four serious incidents including the Associated Air crash involving the plane carrying the remains of former Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Olusegun Agagu.

The plane, an Embraer 120 ER aircraft with registration 5N-BJY, crashed at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos on 3rd October, 2013 few minutes after killing 13 people and injuring seven.

Commissioner/Chief Executive Officer of AIB, Engr. Akin Olateru blamed the crash on poor professional conduct of the flight crew as they ought to have aborted take-off with the signals emanating from the engine.

Another accident report released was that of Westlink Airlines Limited Piper Aztec 23-250 aircraft with the registration number 5N-BGZ, which occurred at Matseri Village, Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State on August 11, 2014. Read more
