‘I think I am fully in control,’ says Sarri after Kepa substitution row (Metro)

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has tried to play down the Kepa Arrizabalaga substitution row in the Carabao Cup final, insisting his is ‘fully in control’ at the club.

There were remarkable scenes at Wembley as the goalkeeper refused to be substituted despite appearing to be injured and Sarri reacted angrily on the touchline.

Kepa remained on the pitch and Chelsea went on to lose to Manchester City on penalties as the Spaniard saved a spot-kick from Leroy Sane, but also let a tame Sergio Aguero slide through his hands.

Following the confusion, Sarri wanted to concentrate on a good performance from his side, and says the Kepa situation was simply a misunderstanding. Read more
