Luis Ortiz won a hard fought unanimous decision over Christian Hammer on Saturday night in Brooklyn, New York and now wants to have another crack at the biggest fight in boxing, the heavyweight title bout. The wide scores weren’t indicative of how competitive most of the rounds of the Showtime televised bout actually were.
According to boxingscene.com, Hammer was a big underdog, and withstood numerous heavy punches while standing his ground and making it to the finish line.
The soon to be 40-year-old has now won three bouts in a row since his loss to WBC heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder. Ortiz has been campaigning for a rematch to avenge his only career loss. He also has heard his name mentioned by WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO champion Anthony Joshua and at this stage of his career is looking for the biggest fights possible.
With Joshua set to fight Jarrell Miller in June and Wilder likely fighting his mandatory challenger, Dominic Breazeale, lineal champion Tyson Fury may be his best bet for a big fight.“I know my fans love to see me smash my opponents but this isn’t a video game, this isn’t Xbox.
