I’ll restructure police operations, IG says after confirmation (Punch)

The Police Council chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday confirmed Mr Mohammed Adamu as the Inspector-General of Police.

He became acting IG on January 15, succeeding his predecessor, Mr Ibrahim Idris.

The PC has the governors of the 36 states, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, as members.

Speaking soon after his confirmation, Adamu said his major task was to re-strategise and restructure police operations in the country with a view to achieving quality policing. Read more
