India to revoke special status for Kashmir (BBC)

India’s government has moved to revoke the part of the constitution that gives Indian-administered Kashmir special status, sparking outrage in parliament.

Article 370, which grants the Muslim-majority state significant autonomy, is sensitive because it defines its relationship with India.

The entire region is disputed between India and Pakistan. Each claim it in full but only control parts of it.
