Invictus Obi says “Hushpuppi is not my mate”

Obinwanne Okeke a.k.a. Invictus Obi, the Nigerian entrepreneur serving a 10-year jail term in the United States of America (USA) for fraud has said that it is insulting to compare him with Ramon Abass a.k.a. Hushpupi, who, if convicted, will also serve a term in the USA for fraud.

Invictus Obi was speaking in a recent interview with seasoned Virginia criminal journalist David Pright.

It’s insulting, he said, me and Hushpuppi are not on the same level. He goes on to explain that “Hushpuppi could never achieve what I achieved. He cannot run a business and we are not similar in any way. He was out to please the crowd, I was out to change lives, create jobs and conquer the business world. I have done so much for my community back home with my charity foundation, which lives has he helped? Nobody”.

Told that it sounds as if he dislikes Hushppupi, his response is no.

“I have never met him, but I just find the continued comparison very annoying. Our impact on the world is very different. I have made a much more positive contribution to society than he has”.

Okeke, who made it to a Forbes list, says he misses being in business.

“I was a workaholic and most of my joy came from growing my businesses bigger and bigger. I miss family, too and I miss my daughter,” .

On regrets, which he confesses that he has, he said that if he were a little more patient he could have achieved everything he achieved in business by not rushing to get startup capital the way he did.

“However, hopefully I can be a lesson to the younger generation that may be tempted to take the quick route in life,” he said.

Invictus Obi ends the interview by advising Nigerian youths to pick their role models wisely, look up to great leaders and people of good character that look after their communities and families.

“Believe and you will achieve. Also remember life is a marathon not a sprint”.
