Jurgen Klopp has hinted that he could take a year-long sabbatical from football once his contract with Liverpool expires at the end of the 2021/22 season.

The 52-year-old has done a superb job at Liverpool, transforming the club’s fortunes by leading them into the upper reaches of the Premier League and clinching a sixth Champions League title last term.

Liverpool came close to ending their wait to win a league title last season after amassing a club-record 97 points and are top of the Premier League after winning their opening three games.

As a result, Liverpool fans have grown attached to their manager and would love to see him remain at the club long-term, but Klopp suggested he could walk away at the end of his current deal. Read more
