Liverpool are sweating over the fitness of goalkeeper Adrian after the Spaniard suffered a freak injury during Wednesday’s Super Cup win over Chelsea.
The former West Ham shot-stopper, a late arrival to replace Simon Mignolet, was drafted into the starting XI in Istanbul after Alisson suffered an injury against Norwich City on the opening day of the Premier League season.
Adrian was the hero in Turkey, saving the decisive spot-kick, though he was subsequently injured by a fan in the celebrations and could now miss Saturday’s trip to Southampton.
