Jussie Smollett’s attorney has accused Chicago officials of continuing their ‘campaign’ against the actor despite all charges having been dropped.
The Empire actor was charged with a 16 count indictment for filing a false police report in the investigation into his attack in Chicago at the end of January, but all the charges were dropped five weeks later.
The FBI is thought to have now launched a probe into why the charges were dropped when the prosecution team claimed to have evidence for Jussie’s conviction.
In response however Patricia Holmes, speaking on behalf of Jussie, said: ‘The case is closed. No public official has the right to violate Mr. Smollett’s due process rights.’ Read more
