Kanye West has quit social media once again.
On Saturday (Oct. 6), the hip-hop superstar deleted his Twitter and Instagram accounts. West suspended his social media activity in May 2017 before reactivating his Twitter account in April of this year and reappearing on Instagram in September.
It’s unclear why he removed his accounts, but the sudden move follows his controversial appearance on “SNL,” where he delivered a pro-Donald Trump rant while wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat. West recently revealed he’s off his medication and delayed the release of his album Yandhi from Sept. 29 to Black Friday, Nov. 23.
During an interview with TMZ, he said that he wasn’t done recording and planned to go to Africa in the coming weeks to finish the project.
“I felt the roots. We have to go to what is known as Africa—I just need to go and find out what it’s really called, and just grab the soil and be and cook food,” he said. “And have my kids in the studio and have the mic in the open so you can hear nature while we’re recording.” Read more
