Kenneth Gyang helms “Òlòturé”, Netflix Original film due out Oct 2

Oloture | Official Trailer | Netflix

Kenneth Gyang has directed another film that is bound to tinker with the very foundations of Nollywood if the trailer that has been making waves on social media is anything to go by. Titled Òlòturé, it is a Netflix Original and is to be released on October 2 on the streaming site.

Òlòturé captures the Nigerian harsh reality of human trafficking, a form of modern slavery, with a conservatively estimated 21 million people forced or coerced into it worldwide. The film offers an insight into how women are coerced, under alluring and false pretenses, and drawn into a dark underworld from which sadly, many never return.

From the stable of EbonyLife Films, the script is by Yinka Ogun and Craig Freimond, while Heidi Uys, Temidayo Makanjuola and James Amuta produced the film.

It parades a talented cast that includes: Lala Akindoju, Adah Ameh, Segun Arinze, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Omowunmi Dada, David Jones David, Patrick Doyle, Daniel Effiong, Wofai Fada, Emmanuel Ilemobayo, Sambasa Nzeribe, Omoni Oboli, Gregory Ojefua, Pearl Okorie

Bukola Oladipupo, Eunice Omoregie, Ikechukwu Onunaku, Sharon Ooja, Beverly Osu, Yemi Solade and Omawumi.
