Kevin Hart could still host the Oscars (Metro)

Kevin Hart recently pulled out of hosting the 2019 Oscars, after homophobic tweets from 9 years ago emerged, sparking a huge backlash.

The comedian previously used the word ‘gay’ as a slur, and also labelled people ‘f**s’ in unearthed tweets from 2009-2010, with fans calling for him to step down from the Academy Awards over the posts.

However, during an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, the 39-year-old revealed he is ‘evaluating’ his stance, and could take on hosting duties once again.

The presenter revealed she had reached out to The Academy, asking whether they would consider reinstating the Central Intelligence actor – as another host has not yet been announced for the Awards, on 24 February.

‘We want him to host, whatever we can do, we would be thrilled, and he should host,’ she claimed they told her. Read more
