The Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC) is set to initiate the prelude to local government elections, scheduled for February 2024.
Applauding the Kwara State House of Assembly for passing crucial amendments to the election law, KWSIEC expressed enthusiasm for the impending bill signing and detailed plans for election-related activities next month.
KWSIEC Chairman, Okanla Baba, conveyed the commission’s excitement over the legislative developments, stating, “We are excited to receive the news of the passage of the amendments to the law. While the commission looks forward to the signing of the bill any moment from now, we will, in February, announce activities for the conduct of the local government elections. We urge all stakeholders to support this process.”
