Kwara State Police Commissioner, Victor Olaiya, has ordered a discreet investigation into the death of three siblings who were suffocated to death in a stationary car in Ilorin on Sunday.

LEADERSHIP gathered that policemen on Monday visited the scene of the incident in Sango-Kulende quarters, Ilorin, the state capital on a fact-finding mission.

According to a resident of the area, the policemen couldn’t gain entrance into the building as the gate was under lock and key, and nobody was around to welcome them.

It was gathered that the police operatives later proceeded to the family house of the mother of the deceased at Taiwo Isale Road, Ilorin, where she was recuperating after she fainted as a result of her children’s tragic death on Sunday.

The police operatives, it was learnt, queried the mother for not reporting the matter officially.

LEADERSHIP gathered that while the family intended to settle the matter internally, the Police Commissioner has directed his men to go ahead with the discreet investigation in the bid to get to the root of the matter.

Meanwhile, the owner of the building where the three siblings died, has issued a quit notice to the bereaved father, identified as Abdulkadir Jimoh, who has gone into hiding since the tragic incident occurred on Sunday. (Leadership)
