Lagos doctor in trouble over viral Voice Note

A Lagos based female medical personnel, Dr. Anyanwu, working on the frontlines against Covid-19 might lose her job over a Whatsapp Voice Note she sent to her sister.

In the Voice Note she can be heard telling her sister that Amuwo-Odofin is “a hot mess” of Covid-19 infections.

“Out of 40 tests we are getting 15 positive cases. Any body going out must wear a face mask.”

Her sister seems to have inadvertently released the voice note which has not only gone viral but has earned the young doctor the ire of her colleagues and put her job in jeaopardy.

In another recording which has also gone viral, a senior colleague, Dr. Fafunto can be heard berating her junior colleague.

“I just got a voice note circulating now and I know the message emanated from you. To say the least, I am very upset…There are many half truths. I plan to send it to the SA to the Governor. I think it has malicious intent…I did not even listen to the details. I knew it was your voice. I think you should do a rejoinder to this.”

Speaking in her defence, Dr. Anyanwu said “There was no bad or evil or malicious intent. I sent it to my sister to let them know that I am fine. The last they knew is that I was at the airport. I am really disappointed in her?”
