There has been water everywhere across a great expanse of Lagos State all of Friday largely due to the sustained rainfall during most of the day. A video shows a part of Lagos Island with cars in the parking space for corporate offices there partly submerged. As can be expected, the flood has resulted in gridlock in the axis particularly on a weekend like this one where residents are out to do the shopping for the coming Salah festivities.

The rains are here again with the attendant challenge of flooding making residents of flood-prone communities in Lagos State anxious that what befell the unlucky car owners in the car park will happen to them as the rains go on in this wet season.
The 2021 Annual Flood Outlook has predicted more flooding to be experienced in these 13 local government areas of the state including Lagos Island, Eti-Osa, Alimosho, Amuwo Odofin, Ikeja, Ojo, Kosofe, Apapa, Epe, Oshodi-Isolo, Shomolu, Surulere and Ajeromi /Ifelodun. If the prediction is anything to go by, then this is just the beginning and Lagosians are right to be wary.
