Sam Raimi is game to make another‘Spider-Man’ with Tobey Maguire (TheWrap)
Fresh off the multiversal return of Tobey Maguire in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” director Sam Raimi says he’d be interested in making a fourth Spider-Man movie with his former Peter Parker.
Raimi helped kick off the current era of superhero movies with 2002’s box office record-breaking “Spider-Man,” which was followed by two additional sequels that themselves were commercial successes (and “Spider-Man 2” is still hailed as one of the greatest sequels of all time).
The acclaimed “Evil Dead” filmmaker is making his triumphant return to the comic book adaptation with May’s Marvel Studios film “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” and in an interview with Fandango, Raimi was asked about the chances of him making another “Spider-Man” movie with Maguire.
“I’ve come to realize after making ‘Doctor Strange’ that anything is possible, really anything in the Marvel universe, any team-ups,” Raimi said. “I love Tobey. I love Kirsten Dunst. I think all things are possible. I don’t really have a story or a plan. I don’t know if Marvel would be interested in that right now. I don’t know what their thoughts are about that. I haven’t really pursued that. But it sounds beautiful. Even if it wasn’t a ‘Spider-Man’ movie, I’d love to work with Tobey again, in a different role.” Read more

It also explores Savile’s relationship with the Prince of Wales, in particular the letters they exchanged over many years during which the presenter often provided advice on public and family matters.
The documentary’s director, Rowan Deacon, told Times Radio that some of the material they examined was Savile’s correspondence with Charles, which, she said, gave them an “understanding of the nature of the friendship that they had”, which she feels has not been fully understood before. Read more

Klopp rotates his rich resources to set Liverpool on fine footing for City (Guardian)
The search for more silverware will only get harder for Liverpool from here on in, warned Jürgen Klopp in Lisbon, but it was with unmistakable and understandable relish that his thoughts turned to what might prove the first of three defining matches with Manchester City this season.
Benfica went perfectly on Tuesday, the opening 25 minutes of the second half notwithstanding, in terms of a Champions League quarter-final first leg result away from home, preparation for a potentially decisive moment in the Premier League title race on Sunday, and beyond.
Liverpool will arrive at the Etihad Stadium with another slice of club history to their name. The 3-1 win at Estadio da Luz was their eighth consecutive victory on the road in all competitions, a new Liverpool record, and while Klopp spoke of his team “really digging deep and fighting with all they have” to extend the sequence in Portugal, overall it was Liverpool’s most commanding performance for several weeks. That is not to suggest City will be anywhere near as compliant as Benfica were in an almost one-sided first half, however.
Klopp utilised and rotated his rich resources to telling effect once again. Jordan Henderson, Joël Matip, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota started on the bench – only Matip remained there throughout – ahead of the City game when all will be in contention to return. Trent Alexander-Arnold was given a valuable 89 minutes to rediscover his rhythm and truly outstanding passing range after a hamstring injury, likewise Naby Keïta, who offered creativity, bite and threat from midfield, following his recovery from a knee problem. Diego Maradona’s ‘Hand of God’ jersey set to fetch millions at auction (RTE)
The shirt worn by Diego Maradona when he scored two unforgettable goals to knock England out of the 1986 World Cup, including the so-called ‘Hand Of God’, is set to fetch more than £4 million at auction.
Maradona – one of the greatest footballers of all time, who died in November 2020 at the age of 60 – described his opening goal in the quarter-final tie, where the ball clearly hit the leaping Argentinian’s left arm before nestling in the net, as “a little with the head of Maradona, and a little with the hand of God”.
He then scored what was voted “goal of the century” when he dribbled past a host of England players before netting as Argentina sealed a 2-1 win in Mexico City en route to winning the tournament.
Midfielder Steve Hodge, who had unintentionally flicked the ball to Maradona in the ‘Hand of God’ play, swapped shirts with his rival in the tunnel after the game and has owned it ever since – although the item has spent the last 20 years on loan at the National Football Museum in Manchester. Tommy and Tyson Fury continuing to perform ‘controversial’ exercise in training (Mirror)
Tommy Fury is still performing his controversial ‘medicine ball’ exercise with his brother Tyson, insisting it had nothing to do with the rib injury that forced him out of his fight with Jake Paul.
Fans were furious when after the Love Island star was forced to cancel his bout with Paul due to a broken rib, footage emerged showing Tyson hammering his midsection with a medicine ball in an ab exercise.
The commonly-used ab exercise is popular with boxers, but concerned fans who felt it could have damaged his rib before he broke his rib in a training session gone wrong. The younger Fury was training with an unnamed heavyweight when he received a bare-knuckle punch that caused the severe injury, sidelining him for over four months.
But he insists that the exercise is in fact a positive for fighters, and he returned to it with his brother once he had been medically cleared to spar full contact again. “We’re still doing it!” Fury told the Queensberry Promotions YouTube channel. “We’re still doing it because that’s not what caused the injury. Mick Schumacher says that he is feeling comfortable alongside Kevin Magnussen and that he is finding the team-mate dynamic at Haas better than he did in 2021.
