LASG seals off plastic company over death of worker (Guardian)
The Lagos State Government has sealed off Multipak Nigeria Ltd., a plastic producing factory, for violation of safety rules and regulations, poor house-keeping and lack of signage, which led to the death of a worker.
The Director-General, Lagos State Safety Commission (LSSC), Mr Lanre Mojola, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Sunday.

Woman poisons two-day-old granddaughter with Sniper (NewTelegraph)
Police in Ogun State have arrested a 42-year-old woman, Temitope Akinola, for allegedly killing her two-day-old granddaughter.
The suspect, a resident of Isote area of Sagamu, was accused of poisoning the baby with a deadly insecticide known as Sniper, resulting in her death.
The state police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the arrest of the suspect in a statement made available to reporters in Abeokuta on Sunday. Read more
Woman allegedly throws son into well in Osun (DailyTrust)
A 33-year-old woman in Osogbo, Osun state, Rukayat Abdul Raheem, has sent her son, Abdulganiyu to early grave as she allegedly threw the boy into a well which resulted to his death. Though the reason for her action on 17th of November could not be determined, residents of Osogbo expressed shock over the incident. The woman was arrested by policemen and the matter was taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for investigation, our reporter gathered. Read more
How I lured, raped, impregnated 11-year-old girl with N100 – Driver (Nation)
A 42-year old driver with the Imo State Transport Company (ITC), Mr. Okorie Agwu, has told a family Court in Owerri how he deceived, defiled, assaulted and impregnated an eleven year-old girl, using N100 note as a bait.
The girl (names withheld) was a junior secondary school (JSS 1) student in 2017 when the driver lured her with N100 note and repeatedly raped her in the bushes and uncompleted buildings in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
Agwu, who was remanded in the Owerri Correctional Centre by the family Court in Owerri, confessed that he had only at two different occasions lured the girl, who is now 13 years old, with one hundred naira note into his vehicle; drove her to a secluded area, including the desolate Akachi Tower axis on Owerri-Aba Road to molest her. Government plans massive road repairs at Yuletide (Guardian)
The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola has said government was working with contractors handling road projects for the repairs of major arterial road networks in view of the forthcoming Yuletide.
Addressing the contractors in Abuja, Fashola said the meeting was aimed at reviewing the state of on-going reconstruction works on major arterial roads, planning and strategising on how to facilitate the ease of movement during the festival season. He also urged the Corps Marshal of Federal Road Safety Commission, Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and Federal Controllers of Works and Contractors to work together on some defined on-going roads projects across the country. 68-year-old man celebrates 30 children, 70 grandchildren (Punch)
A Jalingo-based man, 68-year-old Adamu Loddo, has urged parents to ensure proper upbringing of children as he celebrated the gift of 30 surviving children and 70 grand children.
Loddo, who expressed appreciation to God for the gift, also said the celebration was an opportunity to show the right example on how to bring up children in both scholarship and character.

PFN kicks against UNN seminar on witchcraft (Nation)
The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has kicked against the proposed conference on witches scheduled to hold this week at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).
The Christian body said it would stop at nothing to frustrate the event, describing it as a subtle way of handing Enugu State over to the kingdom of darkness.
This was contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the PFN Chairman in the State, Bishop Godwin Madu, who declared that they would not sit by and watch some people hand the State over to witches. Read more

DR Congo: Many dead as plane crashes into homes (BBC)
At least 24 people have died after a passenger plane crashed into houses in Goma city in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, local officials say.
Residents on the ground, including four family members, were among the victims.
The small aircraft went down in the Mapendo neighbourhood after “missing” its take-off from the city’s airport on Sunday morning, North Kivu regional governor Nzanzu Kasivita said. Read more

Voters have turned out in record numbers to cast their ballots in Hong Kong’s district council elections.
By lunchtime, the number of voters had already surpassed the final total in the 2015 elections.
The election is seen as a test of support for embattled Chief Executive Carrie Lam.

Omeruo injured in Leganes defeat to Barcelona (Punch)
Leganes’ Nigeria international Kenneth Omeruo picked up an injury as his club suffered a 2-1 defeat to Barcelona at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque on Saturday afternoon.

Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen joins a host of African stars including Wilfred Ndidi, Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane on the preliminary list of nominees for the CAF African Player of the Year award.

Roger Federer may not be playing at the new look Davis Cup in Spain but the 38-year-old was still pulling in the crowds when he met Alexander Zverev in an exhibition match in Mexico City on Saturday.
According to organisers, 42,517 spectators packed into the specially-erected arena in the Plaza de Toros to watch Federer beat the German 6-3,4-6,6-2.

Nigeria’s Head Coach, Adamu ‘Ejo’ Audu has apologised to Nigerians over his team’s scandalous 1-10 loss to Portugal in their opening game of the on-going FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Paraguay on Friday.
The Group D loss is Nigeria’s heaviest since it started participating in the competition. Speaking after the game, Audu admitted that his team met a better side, adding, however that they had learnt valuable lessons from the match. “All is not lost. We still have opportunities to make amends in two matches,” he said.

Atletico Madrid lost ground on leaders Barcelona as they were held 1-1 away to Granada on Saturday for a seventh draw in 14 La Liga games.
Diego Simeone’s side went ahead on the hour mark through Brazilian left back Renan Lodi but lost their lead soon after when Granada’s German Sanchez outjumped his marker Hector Herrera and sent a header crashing into the net.

Mourinho to raid Lille again for Osimhen (Punch)
Super Eagles and Lille forward, Victor Osimhen, is believed to be the primary target for newly appointed Tottenham coach Jose Mourinho who could be on his way back to the French outfit to poach the club of its most priced asset.
Mourinho raided Joao Sacramento and Nuno Santos from LOSC after being announced as Spurs new manager but the Portuguese’s raiding of the Lille based club may not be over as he is set to make a return in January.

Arsenal fans have taken to the social media to react to their 2-2 draw with Southampton, with ‘Emery Out’ trending on Twitter following the performance at the Emirates on Saturday, November 23.

Solskjaer says Man Utd unlikely to spend big in January (Guardian)
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said on Saturday there is little hope of Manchester United being able to make significant additions to their under-performing squad in the January transfer window.
United have been linked with a long list of potential new recruits as Solskjaer seeks to improve after an inconsistent start to the season.
Names like England winger Jadon Sancho, currently with Borussia Dortmund but reportedly keen to return to English football, Leicester playmaker James Maddison and Salzburg striker Erling Braut Haaland, one of the most sought after young talents in Europe, have all been linked with United.
A possible move for Haaland appears particularly plausible, given that Solskjaer worked with the forward while at Norwegian side Molde. Read more
Rangers urges time change in CAF group fixtures (Vanguard)
Rangers International FC of Enugu has appealed to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for a change of time fixed for the group matches scheduled to kick off on December 1.
The Media Officer of the club, Norbert Okoli, made the appeal in a statement issued on Saturday in Enugu.
Okoli stated that the General Manager of the club, Davidson Owumi, had dispatched a letter of appeal to the African football-ruling body through the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). Read more
