LeBron James has invested in a new tequila and mezcal brand, and the woman behind Diddy’s billion-dollar booze business has been tapped to run it.
Dia Simms — the music mogul’s former protégée who spent more than 15 years helping him build Cîroc — is the new CEO of the James-backed Lobos 1707 line, according to a press release.
An insider told us James invested in the brand with partner Maverick Carter because of its commitment to “diverse leadership.”
Page Six reported that Simms left Diddy’s company last year to enter the cannabis industry, but she has now gone back to the booze biz. (PageSix)
