Lights Camera Africa!!! 2018 receiving short write-ups till Sept 23

The 2018 edition of Lights, Camera, Africa !!! film festival is accepting short essays and contributions for its beloved brochure, the classic collectible little book of the fest around the theme: Who Do You Think You Are? That is incidentally the theme for this year’s festival taking place from September 28 – 30, 2018 at the MUSON Centre, Lagos.

Ugoma Adegoke, the founder and director of Lights Camera Africa !!!, made the announcement in a statement, saying that the idea is to share messages that help us understand issues of self, self-discovery, purpose, source and our place in the world.

She said, “We would like to share messages that help us explore the ways in which we – as either individuals or groups of people understand issues of self, self-discovery, purpose, source and our place in the world’.

She went on to encourage intending contributors to please share a piece of writing of up to 500 words on the theme.

“You may wish to make it a poem, a riddle, a song, a chant, a classic piece of prose – fiction or non-fiction. It could be quirky or formal, just make it yours. All views and styles are valid!” she explained.

Those who want to send in material must do so on or before Sunday, September 23, 2018 via email to info@lcafilmfest.com.

She further explained that it is for the “beloved brochure – now a classic collectible little book that we all love – in which these pieces of yours will feature and be immortalised forever”.

Contributors are to include one or two sentences describing themselves, that is, “who you are and what you do in a nutshell”. They may also include their social media IDs.
