‘Limbe to Lagos’ for launch in Lagos on Friday

Goethe-Institut Nigeria will on Friday, February 8 launch the book, Limbe to Lagos: Non-fiction from Cameroon and Nigeria. The book, a collection of narrative nonfiction is the outcome of the Literary Exchange project organised by Goethe-Institut Nigeria and Cameroon together with Bakwa and Saraba magazines.

The launch is to feature a conversation with the writers who will talk about the modern African reality and share their journey on creative non-fiction and travelling around Cameroon and Nigeria.

Time for the event is 6pm and the venue Ouida House. 3C, Oba Dosunmu Street, off Isaac John street, GRA, Ikeja.

Early in 2017, the organisers made a call for the project receiving, they said, over 300 eligible entries from both Nigeria and Cameroon.

“We encountered a huge number of high-quality writing but regrettably, we had limited slots. We privileged writers with promise and potential over those already established. We use the medium to thank everyone who submitted entries. We wish you good luck in your writing,” a statement naming those selected, had said.

The 10 writers, five from each country, attended workshops on creative non-fiction run by the Bakwa and Saraba literary magazines in Lagos and Yaoundé.

What is more, the event is free to the public.
