Liverpool are not expected to have a busy summer in the transfer market after their Champions League success, but Mark Lawrenson has picked out two areas of the pitch where they could strengthen.
The Reds enjoyed a sensational campaign which saw them pick up the biggest prize in European football and narrowly miss out on the Premier League title, finishing one point behind winners Manchester City.
Lawrenson, who won five league titles with Liverpool in the 1980s, does not think an overhaul of the squad is on the cards, but thinks improvements have to be made.
‘You’d look at Liverpool now and think, “It’s really time to kick on”. But if people are thinking there are going to be five or six new players, I don’t see that,’ Lawrenson told the Mirror. Read more
