A 40-year-old man, Noah Oluyemi, was on Monday docked before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, for converting rent money of N4.15 million from several women to personal use.
Oluyemi, whose residential address was not provided, is facing a count charge of stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, SP Josephine Ikhayere, told the court that the defendant collected rent from different tenants in an apartment and converted the total sum of N4.15 million to person use.
Ikhayere said that the defendant collected the money from the following women, Olagunju Olukemi, Adedoyin Oluwayemi, Olubunmi Atitebi and Modupe Olaniyan.
She said that the offences contravened Section 280 (1) (a) and is punishable under section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria 2015.
The Magistrate, Mr Lateef Owolabi, admitted the defendant to N400,000 bail and two sureties in like sum.
Owolabi adjourned the matter until May 29, for mention. (NAN)
