Manchester United are set to announce Marcus Rashford’s contract extension before their pre-season tour of Australia after the striker reportedly agreed a deal worth up to £300,000-a-week.
The forward has 12 months to run on his existing deal and, though United have the option to extend that by a further 12 months, they value Rashford as an academy product and a potential star of the future.
Barcelona have shown interest in Rashford and are said to have identified the England forward as a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made Rashford his first choice striker when he took over from Jose Mourinho last December and the club are prepared to show the striker a huge sign of faith by allowing Romelu Lukaku to leave. Read more
