The chairman, who was flanked by four governorship aspirants, including Mr. Olarewaju Jimi-Kamal, Mr. Rhodes Vivor, Mr. Deji Doherty, and Dr. Ade Dosunmu, said: “We are all shocked to see that the list does not reflect the authentic elected ad-hoc delegates as conducted by the organs of the party at ward level and supervised by officials of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the DSS.”
While lamenting that the delegate list used by the ad-hoc did not emanate from his executive committee, Aiboji said: “We realised that contrary to the provision of our great party and the electoral guidelines of the party, the election committee came to the state with the list venues and already chosen electoral officers. This is the responsibility of the state executive committee of our party and therefore totally unacceptable.” Read more

After 15 years of operating in Russia, Starbucks will exit the market, joining companies like McDonald’s, Exxon Mobil and British American Tobacco in withdrawing from the country completely.
The coffee giant announced Monday that it will no longer have a brand presence in Russia. Starbucks has 130 locations in the country, which account for less than one percent of the company’s annual revenue. They are all licensed locations, so the Seattle-based company itself doesn’t operate them.
Starbucks said it will pay its nearly 2,000 Russian workers for six months and help them transition to new opportunities outside of the coffee chain.
Both consumers and investors pressured Western companies like Starbucks to cut ties with Russia to show opposition to the Kremlin’s war with Ukraine, but unwinding licensing deals takes time. Starbucks has suspended all business activity with the country since March 8. The pause included shipping all Starbucks products and temporarily shuttering cafes. Read more
