Members kick as APGA zones presidency to the North (Punch)

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is stricken by a crisis of confidence as the Board of Trustees and National Working Committee are feuding over the zoning of its presidential candidate in the 2019 general elections.

Investigations by our correspondent showed that while the BOT had resolved that the party’s presidential slot be zoned to the north, the NWC said it was not consulted in the resolution.

The BOT meeting that took the decision was, it was learnt, held at Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, near Awka, the state capital.

The meeting, it was gathered, was held at the instance of Governor Willie Obiano, who is the party’s National Leader and BOT chairman. Read more
