Molara Wood’s ART For The People podcast makes best 30 list

Feedspot has named ART For The People podcast hosted by Molara Wood as One of the Best Visual Arts Podcasts on the Web.

Feedspot, which hosts the “Internet’s Largest Human Curated Database of Bloggers and Podcasts”, made the announcement Monday, November 14 on its website, https://blog.feedspot.com.

Listed as number 15 out of Best 30 Visual Arts Podcasts, ART for the People Nigeria is a podcast on arts and culture, focusing on Nigeria and Africa. The broad range of artistic expression includes books, visual arts, theatre, films, music, festivals, culture and heritage. 

Molara Wood is a Nigerian creative writer, journalist and critic. She is the author of Indigo, a collection of short stories. She won the inaugural John La Rose Memorial Short Story competition and received an award from the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association for her fiction.

She is the former Arts & Culture Editor of NEXT newspaper; and is widely published as a culture journalist and critic, with a long stint as a columnist with the Lagos Guardian. Also an essayist, speechwriter and literary editor with major works of fiction and non-fiction to her credit, she is editing Ake Review for the third year in a row.

Her short stories, flash fiction, poetry and essays have appeared in numerous publications. These include African Literature Today, Chimurenga, Farafina Magazine, Sentinel Poetry, DrumVoices Revue, Sable LitMag, Eclectica Magazine, The New Gong Book of New Nigerian Short Stories (ed. Adewale Maja-Pearce, 2007), and One World: A Global Anthology of Short Stories (ed. Chris Brazier; New Internationalist, 2009). She currently lives in Lagos.
