A 25-year-old commercial motorcyclist, Imoleayo Omoniyi, on Friday appeared before an Okitipupa Chief Magistrates’ Court, Ondo State, for alleged stealing of power bank worth N25,000.
The defendant, whose address was not given, is facing a two-count charge.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, ASP Zedekiah Orogbemi, said that the defendant committed the theft on Oct.16, 2023, about 10.00 a.m. at Cassava Company on Ikoya Road in Okitipupa.
Orogbemi said that the defendant stole the power bank from one Bola Olayomi in contravention of Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ondo State, 2006.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Cletus Ojuola, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50, 000 and one surety in like sum.
He ordered that the surety must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction and show evidence of two years’ tax paymen to the state government.
He adjourned the case until Feb. 16 for hearing. (NAN)
