Mousa Dembele’s time at Tottenham Hotspur appears to be up with the Belgian midfielder expected to complete a move to Chinese Super League side Beijing Guoan in the coming days.
Chinese clubs can have a maximum of four foreign players in their squad and Beijing Guoan have created room for Dembele by offloading Spanish striker Jonathan Soriano to Al-Hilal last week.
Beijing Guoan, managed by former Bayer Leverkusen manager Roger Schmidt, have tabled an £11m off for Dembele, whose contract with Spurs expires at the end of June. He is expected to earn considerably more than his current £80,000 weekly wage if he completes his move to the Far East.
Mauricio Pochettino hinted the midfielder could move on Monday, saying: ‘If something arrives we are going to listen and then it’s what we want to do or the player wants to do, it’s about to negotiate, talk, like always it happens in that business.’ Read more
