National Assembly imposes restrictions on media (Guardian)

The National Assembly yesterday issued stringent requirements it said media organisations must comply with before they can cover its activities.

The conditions will further deepen intrigues in the lead-up to the inauguration of the ninth National Assembly in about three weeks.

The Guardian had on Monday reported that a crisis was brewing over how members of the Senate particularly would choose their leaders.

“Senators from the camps of the two prominent candidates for the position of Senate president are now locked in exchange of threats and counter-threats of violence,” it says. Read more
