Men of the Nigerian Navy in Igbokoda, Ondo State, have arrested 24 suspects and intercepted six boats loaded with over 100,000 litres of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), popularly known as diesel along Ondo/Lagos coastal axis.

Parading the suspects and the boats before journalists, the Commanding Officer of the Base, Captain Shaibu Mohammed Ahmed, said six boats carrying illegally refined crude oil, owned by bunkerers were intercepted.

One of the boats, he said, contains 150 drums of 250 litres of refined AGO.

Another wooden boat containing 16 tanks of 4,500 litres of diesel was also intercepted; while other boats seized by the Navy were said to be full of empty drums. (DailyTrust)
