Netflix gives new shows 28 days to impress them or they’re cancelled (Metro)

Netflix has given a rare insight into what they look for in a successful show, and give some sage advice about why they cancel the series they do.

Cindy Holland, Original Content VP for the service, is the one of the main big wigs in charge of how long titles have to live on Netflix before they cut their losses and give it the axe.

Last year alone, surprise sleeper hits like Everything Sucks were given their marching orders, while the far-less well-received Haters Back Off and Friends From College have also been given the axe after their second seasons.

Speaking at the International Television Conference INTV in Jerusalem, Cindy explained that there’s an all-important 28-day window after the show’s release that often determines their fate. Read more
