NGO donates food items, cash gift to the aged in Abuja

In a bid to mitigate the current excruciating economic hardship among Nigerians, an humanitarian group, Zed-Faith Foundation International (ZFFI), has donated food items to the aged at the Elderly Home in Kado area of FCT Abuja to alleviate their plight.

The gesture was in line with the group’s vision and mission to care for the elderly, widows and vulnerable ones in the society.

The non-governmental organisation noted that the outreach was not a one-off occasion, rather a usual gesture by the founder and chairman of the NGO to put smiles on the faces of the senior citizens.

The chairman/CEO of ZFFI, Ambassador Daniel Onyeka Newman, while speaking noted that the vulnerable, especially elderly and widows with dependants needed all the love and support especially in the face of the current economic hardship and as such he will not be deterred in sharing the little God has given him to those who are in need for the betterment of the larger society.

Newman, who was ably represented by the Country Director of ZFFI, Mr Chinnaya Innocent Chikwado, explained that his love for humanity and zeal to always put smile on the faces of people prompted the wilful donation of the food items to the Elderly Home as it is a lifestyle for him and his Management team.

He further urged the beneficiaries never to lose hope and continue to pray for the country and its people to overcome the present challenges.

While urging the government to consider the vulnerable, most especially the elderly, which are the Senior citizens in the planned palliative measures and support it planned to roll out, he noted that they are to be pampered and cared for as they have served the nation in their little way.

Amb. Newman advised that credible NGOs such as ZFFI, which is in touch with the vulnerable and elderly, should be supported by the government and relevant international organisations, so as to reach out to the downtrodden in the society.

Appreciating the gesture of the humanitarian group, the Coordinator of the Elderly Home situated in Kado, applauded the ZFFI for its unwavering support in making sure that the elderly are taken care of.

She urged those who have benefitted by putting their elderly ones in Old People’s Homes to emulate the chairman/CEO of Zed-Faith Foundation International in supporting such cause with what God has blessed them with, so as to make the elderly feel loved and not neglected in the society.

LEADERSHIP reports that ZFFI has donated food items worth millions of Naira to the Old People’s Homes for the elderly and vulnerable across the country. (Leadership)
