Nigeria records 307 new cases of COVID-19

Lagos has yet again recorded the highest number of fresh cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced the figure for the centre of excellence as 188. Not as high as the day before but higher than any other state in the country.

Making the announcement via its verified Twitter handle on Sunday night, the NCDC said that 307 new cases were recorded from 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). It listed the FCT as having 44 new cases, Ogun 19, Kaduna 14 and Oyo 12. 

Bayelsa recorded nine new cases, while Gombe has five, Kano and Delta three each, Imo, Rivers, Niger and Bauchi all recorded two each. Plateau and Kwara complete the list with one case each.

The total number of confirmed cases for Nigeria is now 10,162  with 3,007 discharged and 287 deaths.
