Nigeria records 328 new cases of COVID-19, total now 11,844

As religious centres reopen a cross Nigeria, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Friday said Nigeria recorded 328 new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 11,844.

The NCDC Confirmed the new cases on its verified Twitter handle, saying Lagos recorded 121 new cases, FCT-70, Bauchi-25, Rivers-18, Oyo-16, Kaduna-15, Gombe-14, Edo-13 and Ogun-13. Jigawa, Enugu, Kano, Osun and Ondo complete the list with eight, six, five, two, two new cases, respectively.

Nigeria has discharged 3,696 and recorded 333 deaths since the novel coronavirus was first detected in the country on February 27.

Worldwide, close to seven million cases have been reported with nearly four hundred thousand deaths.
